Øresundståg is one of the worst excuses for a train system in the world. Our scheduled 84 minute direct trip to the airport took 3 hours and 35 minutes – and that was only after we gave up and took a taxi at our own expense. This made us miss the check-in and hence flight.

While the train left home on time, it stopped for 90 minutes half-way along the journey and then proceeded at a walking pace. Finally the train was cancelled one stop before the airport. With several hundred passengers, one replacement bus arrived.

Needed to get on our flight to Australia, we got in the first available taxi. But this was still not enough and we arrived at the check-in desk three minutes late. We then queued for an hour to rebook our tickets, which took all of three minutes.

British airways kindly rebooked us on the next flight to London, and we will still make our flight to Sydney tonight.
